Product Description of Silicon Carbide Refractory Bricks
Silicon carbide bricks are a high-grade refractory material made primarily from silicon carbide through high-temperature sintering or chemical bonding. They offer high refractoriness, high hardness, high-temperature strength, excellent chemical stability, and resistance to wear and corrosion. These characteristics make them exceptional refractory products for use in extremely harsh working conditions.
Silicon carbide bricks can be categorized into various types based on the bonding phase, including:
Oxide-bonded silicon carbide bricks (such as silicate-bonded and silica-bonded);
Nitride-bonded silicon carbide bricks (such as silicon nitride-bonded and sialon-bonded);
Self-bonded (recrystallized) silicon carbide bricks: High purity and optimal performance.
Rongsheng Silicon Carbide Brick Feature
1. Extremely High-Temperature Strength: Its strength does not decrease until it approaches its decomposition temperature (approximately 2200°C), but rather increases with increasing temperature.
2. Excellent Thermal Conductivity: Its thermal conductivity is much higher than that of most refractories, giving it excellent resistance to thermal shock and rapid heat transfer, making it suitable for use as a heat exchanger.
3. Excellent Thermal Shock Stability: Its high thermal conductivity and moderate thermal expansion coefficient allow it to withstand drastic temperature fluctuations without cracking or flaking.
4. High Wear Resistance: Silicon carbide bricks are extremely hard (9.5 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond), making them highly resistant to erosion and abrasion from solid materials.
5. Good Chemical Stability: They offer excellent resistance to acidic slag and molten metals.
6. Moderate high-temperature oxidation resistance: In a high-temperature oxidizing atmosphere, a dense silicon dioxide (SiO) protective film will form on the surface to prevent the internal silicon carbide from being further oxidized.

Silicon Carbided Bricks Application
1. Abrasive material-It is due to the high hardness, chemical stability and a certain toughness, so silica carbide brick can be used in manufacturing boned abrasive products, coated abrasive tool and free abrasive, so that can process glass, ceramics, stone, iron casting and some nonferrous metal, cemented carbide, titanium alloy, high speed steel cutter and grinding wheel, etc.
2. Refractory material and corrosive-resistance material-It is owing to the high melting point(decomposition degree), chemical inertness and thermal shock resistance, so the silica carbide brick can be used as refractory slab and sagger in abrasive tools and ceramic products firing kiln, silica carbide brick used in Zinc smelting industry vertical cylinder distillation furnace, Aluminium cell lining, melting pot, small piece furnace material and other kinds of silicon carbide ceramic products.
3. Chemical Usage: Because silicon carbide can be decomposed in molten steel and reacts with oxygen and metal oxide in molten steel to produce carbon monoxide and slag containing silica. Therefore, it can be used as a refining agent for steelmaking, that is to be used as a deoxidizer for steelmaking and modifier for cast iron. This generally uses low - purity silicon carbide to reduce costs. At the same time, it can also be used as the raw material for the manufacture of silicon tetrachloride.
