Low Cement Castable

Low-cement castables refer to castables with a lower amount of cement. The cement dosage of refractory cement castables is generally 15% to 20%, and the cement dosage of low cement castables is about 5%, and some are even reduced to 1% to 2%. The purpose of reducing the amount of cement is to improve the refractory properties of the castable.The working temperature of low cement / ultra-low cement castable is 1450-1800 degrees.

Low cement, ultra-low cement castable materials include clay, high aluminum, mullite, corundum, chromium corundum, zirconium mullite, zirconium corundum, alumina-spinel and carbonaceous and silicon carbide. According to its working performance, there are vibrating castable and self-flowing castable.

Low Cement Castable Features:

It has the the characteristics of small porosity, high density, good volume stability, high strength and small water addition. At the same time, and overcomes the characteristics of the common castable that the strength of the castable decreases significantly at 800~1200ºC, strength of LCC&ULCC increases with the increase of temperature. What is more, it has excellent thermal shock resistance, slag resistance and corrosion resistance.

Low Cement Castable Application

1.Low cement and ultra-low cement refractory castables have a wide range of applications in industrial kiln linings such as metallurgy, petrochemicals, mechanical manufacturing, power, and building materials.

2.Vibratory low and ultra-low cement refractory castables are mainly used as linings of thick size, such as linings for heating furnaces, various heat treatment furnaces, electric furnace covers, shaft kilns, Rotary kiln, Blast furnace tapping ditch, ladles and hot metal ladles.

3.The self flowing low and ultra-low cement refractory castable is mainly used as a lining for thin lining and high-temperature refractory components with metal anchors, such as the outer lining of water-cooled pipes in heating furnaces, the integral spray gun lining for jet metallurgy, the impregnation pipe lining of RH and DH vacuum degassing devices, the gas supply components (breathable bricks) of steel ladles, and the high-temperature wear-resistant lining of petrochemical catalytic cracking reactors.
