Silicon Carbide Powder
Silicon carbide (SiC) is made from quartz sand and petroleum coke or coal tar, wood chips and other raw materials by smelting in high temperature electric resistance furnace .In the high technology non-oxide refractory raw materials , such as C, N, B ,ilicon carbide is the most widely used and one of the most economic material.It can be called corundum or refractory sand.
Silicon Carbide Powder Feature
1) Silicon carbide (SiC) is also called moissanite, commonly known as carborundum.
2) Silicon carbide is very hard, Mohs hardness of 9.5,has excellent thermal conductivity, is a semiconductor, high temperature resistant to oxidation.
3)In the non-oxide refractory materials of high-tech, Silicon carbide is one of the most widely used and economical ones.
4) The black silicon carbide containing SiC about 95%, its toughness is higher than green silicon carbide, mostly used in materials processing with low tensile strength, such as glass, ceramics, stone, refractory material, cast iron and non-ferrous metals. The green silicon carbide containing SiC about 97% or above, good self-sharpenness, mostly used for processing hard alloy, titanium alloy and optical glass, also used for honing cylinder liners and grinding high-speed steel cutting tool.

1. as an abrasive, it can be used as a grinding tool, such as grinding wheel,oilstone,grinding head, sand tile, etc.
2. As a metallurgical deoxidizer andexotic material.
3. High-purity single crystal, which can be used for manufacturing semiconductors and manufacturingsilicon carbide fiber.
4.It can be used as deoxidizer for steelmaking and modifier for cast iron structure, and as raw material for manufacturing silicon tetrachloride.
5.It can be used as high temperature indirect heating material.
